Winter Harvest Dinner
Lots of delicious food and fabulous company at the annual harvest dinner. Thank you to Mandy and Doug for hosting and to everyone for bringing something yummy featuring a fruit/vegetable/herb grown in their own garden.

Felt Making Workshop
Thanks to the fabulous Louisa for teaching the bunch how to do ‘dry felting’ aka ‘needle felting’. Several adorable creations were produced on the night amidst the laughter.

Clothes Swap
What a fun night a clothes swap is! Everyone went home having cleared out their wardrobes and then filling them up again. Thanks Fiona for organising

Winter Solstice Party/ Jaffle night
What a great night – kids running riot in the garden, jaffles eaten and burnt, mulled wine, good conversation and a birthday cake for Nina!

Pottery Morning with Julie
What a fantastic morning with so much laughter and fun….plus productive, everyone made at least one pinch pot! Thanks to Julie for her organising and teaching 🙂

Olive Oil Bottling
This year’s pick resulted in an impressive 147 Litres of olive oil which was bottled and shared proportionally amongst the households that picked the fruit. Thanks again to Ceri for organising this amazing annual event.

West Beacy Bunch Olive Harvest
Our annual olive pick just grows and grows. This year we picked just under 1000 kilos! Thanks to Ceri for organising it all.

Musical Afternoon at Ecoburbia
This fun afternoon of music was held at Ecoburbia, and featured Anea from Moran Street and Tim from Livingstone. What talented musicians we have in the hood – look out for “Play on your Porch Day” later in the year.
The Bike Buds at Ecoburbia
We were lucky enough to welcome Bike Budz to the West Beacy Bunch hood. Several people got their bikes serviced and minor things fixed. Rumour has it they might come regularly.
Thanks to Livingstone Street resident Josh for organising it.

Movie Night
The Muppets were larger than life as they were projected onto the side of a house in Delamere Lane for a group of Beacy Bunchers to enjoy.

Long Table Dinner
The annual long table dinner was a huge success with over 75 people coming together to share a meal with neighbours. A huge thanks to Whitney for being the Hostest with the Mostest!

Snorkelling Adventure 🤿🏊
Sadie led the Beacy Bunchers on a Snorkelling Adventure exploring the Omeo Wreck and the Coogee Marine Trail. The event was enjoyed by some seasoned snorkellers as well as some whom had never donned a snorkel before.

Community Choir Sing-a-long
Anea taught the community choir to sing 3 harmonising parts of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds”. It was a lovely afternoon filled with fun, friendship and music.

Vision Boards
Thanks to Renie for hosting a wonderful afternoon and for her guidance to create personalised vision boards.

Christmas Carols & Picnic in the Park
Thanks to Shani and her brother Robert for another wonderful picnic and sing along this year. We even had a unplanned visit from Santa!

Planning Workshop
In November the West Beacy Coordinators got together and planned activities for 2023. This year 27 activities were planned with 18 people coordinating. Go the Bunch!

Beeswax Wrap Making Workshop
Everyone had been looking forward to this. Ceri not only showed us what to do but supplied all the materials meaning everyone went home with a nice stash of beeswax wraps. Less plastic in the hood!

Games Night
The Games Night was hilarious. Snap Crackle Pop involves taboo, charades and ‘one word’ and people left with sore bellies from laughing. Thanks to Shani and Tim for hosting

Clothes Swap
A small but enthusiastic bunch of clothes swappers met this year and everyone took home a new outfit or two. Mandy’s place was the perfect venue!

Winter Harvest Dinner
Nina coordinates the Moran Street Plot Community Garden and so much of the produce used in this dinner was grown right on the street. Good food, good company . . . good fun!

Felt Making Workshop
As well as being the most colourful member of the Bunch, Louisa is generous in sharing her expertise and wool for this annual event.

Soup & Slice Night
Winter is the time for soup and the Soup and Slice night is a great way to share it. Valmai makes sure everyone goes home with a new recipe or two!

Winter Solstice Bonfire & Pizza Party
Our Winter Solstice celebrations this year involved a pizza oven, lots of dough and a great array of toppings. Thanks to Tim for lighting and managing the oven. Nexy year it’s jaffles.

Breadmaking
It’s hard to explain how grateful everyone was for this amazing experience Ceri organised. Every went home with a sour dough starter and a couple of loaves of delicious bread. We even made pizza for lunch!

Book Exchange
There were huge piles of books at this exchange, although some people left with more than they brought. Valmai organised the extras to go to a school in Africa. Thanks to the church for the loan of their hall.

Naked Gardening Day
Some of the participants from The Plot were a bit shy to have their pictures on the website but they did get ‘naked’ for their annual photo

Olive Oil Decanting
It’s always exciting to finally get that delicious olive oil into bottles. Thanks to Ceri and Dave for measuring it all so carefully

Olive Picking & Pressing
This activity went on all weekend, with families picking all over the bunch. Even after picking nearly 1000 kilos we still had olives on the trees. Ceri does an amazing job of organising this annual event.

House Concert
Covid affected this event that Paul organised but a small crowd attended and enjoyed this outdoor concert.
